A leading food company, with HQ near Bruges, is expanding its team. This family-run business serves large European distribution chains as well as specialist cases. With a turnover of €120 million and 150 employees across production sites in Belgium and France, the company continues to grow and is now looking for a:

Operations Director

Function

  • Responsible for the complete management of the Business Unit in France.
  • Focus on achieving quality, cost, schedule and safety targets.
  • Lead and develop the continuous improvement processes at the site.
  • Managing the teams on site (+/- 90 employees, including 7 direct reports).
  • Supervise and monitor team targets in the areas of quality, cost, time, safety and productivity.
  • Monitor KPIs for all departments, focusing on cost, quality and efficiency.
  • Implement appropriate corrective actions in case of (possible) deviations from targets.
  • Propose technical and organisational improvements to achieve budgetary targets.

 

Profile

 

  • Higher degree (Master level) in mechanical engineering, electromechanics, automation or technology.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in an industrial environment, of which at least 5 years in a managerial role within a production environment in the food or consumer industry.
  • Indepth knowledge of manufacturing processes and experience with Lean Management.
  • Autonomous in executing and implementing improvement projects and driving process optimisations.
  • Excellent organisational skills and strong analytical ability.Experience in team management and excellent communication skills.
  • Knowledge of French food distribution (GMS) is a plus.
  • Perfect proficiency in French and English.
